Mark Sisson informs Sober Conversations about health and wellness

Today’s episode # 30 is a conversation with health and wellness expert Mark Sisson. Mark is the bestselling author of The Primal Blueprint and one of the leading voices of the burgeoning Evolutionary Health Movement. His highest ranked blog, MarksDailyApple.com, with millions of visitors each month, has paved the way for robust health enthusiasts to challenge conventional wisdom’s diet and exercise principles and take personal responsibility for their health and well-being. He operates Primal Blueprint Publishing in Malibu, CA, publishing his own titles as well as work from other authors promoting ancestral health principles. Mark lays it out there clearly and scientifically: It’s up to us to take responsibility for our own health and wellbeing–a message the addiction recovery community will appreciate. He has graciously agreed to join us today to talk about how his work is just what the addiction recovery community needs: Right Now.

  • So true Herby, that we all have to take responsibility for our health. Overall good health and wellness supports long term recovery. Thank you for sharing Mark’s work and for the great interview!

Thank you for taking the time to listen, Cathy. Mark has been blazing this trail for years now and it was Big of him to join Sober Conversations to explore the similarities with his work and addiction prevention/treatment. His website at MarksDailyApple.com is well worth the visit.

  • I can see why you admire Mark’s work as you’ve been heralding this message for years, now. This is such important information for all of us, but especially for parents to start early with their children. As you illuminate – “wellness” – eat well, move well, think well, sleep well – is health, and health is the key to prevention (and treatment, for that matter) of a host of diseases, not the least of which is addiction. Another fantastic Sober Conversation, Herby!

  • This is the stuff, Herby. What a coup catching an interview with Mark Sisson. “Primal Living in the Modern World.” Checked-out his Daily Apple – active, to say the least. And, heck, I even “Googled” him, and if working his perspective will get me an upper body like he has – I’m in. Evolutionary health – fascinating concept, yet so very simple. I’ve always supported the notion that we pop in to this world with a “genetic recipe” and the rest is up to us – our reaction to our environment and our choices. You’re always bringing us cutting-edge info, Herby. And it’s so appreciated. Thanks once more…

Honestly, Bill, his book, The Primal Blueprint is a jaw dropping, duh that. It’s one thing to pontificate about integrated nutrition and what’s best in the exercise realm and another to organize it so real deal humans can and will LIVE it. Highest accolades for Mark and his walking the talk style. Plus, he’s a surfer, so what’s not to like?…Here’s to being the best version of ourselves and to you, Bill White for always making my day.

  • Take care of your body always. A dose of prevention is better than a ton of cure.
