  • Wonderful conversation Herby and Kevin. I’ve been learning more about your and We Face It Together’s approach, Kevin, and thoroughly agree that approaching it through the workplace is key – it’s a place that touches most lives in one way or another, at one time or another. I’ve been doing a similar effort around Secondhand Drinking | Secondhand Drugging – which is a term to describe the negative impacts of a person’s drinking or drugging behaviors on others. Secondhand drinking, for example, directly affects 90 million Americans. These affects include physical and emotional health issues (anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, skin conditions, migraines, as examples) and quality of life consequences that profoundly affect the workplace in manners similar to those Kevin describes for untreated addiction. I look forward to following your model and sharing it widely – very exciting!!

      Lisa,

Thank you for this contribution toward “facing it together.” From what I’ve learned about WeFaceItTogether.org and Kevin’s organization’s core values–it’s all about collaboration in an effort toward fully robust approaches and sustained wellness. Your work, an essential and typically missing piece. I’ll join you in spreading the good news about this well thought through and woefully needed model.

  • Your dedication to finding such great folks to converse with is extraordinary, Herby. Mr. Kirby’s work – and model – is creative and refreshing. Spent some time on the site and it’s great. I’ll quote – “When it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, business as usual is over.” Dang, here’s a man who’s been in the trenches – knows the disease – and he’s jumped into the ring to fight for what’s right. Doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you for the important info, Herby…

Is the podcast done and kaput? I haven’t seen a new episode since this one in June, but maybe I’m not looking in right spot?
