Welcome! I’m Dr. Herby Bell and I’d like to start your visit by telling you what inspired me to create Recovery Health Care.
First and foremost, a sober/wellness lifestyle is the only way to go. I know this because I am a man in long-term addiction recovery and I have experienced first hand, the destructive forces of active addiction personally and in my family. But also, there’s a true, transformational gift in addiction recovery that seems to elude us–until we commit 100%. Commitment includes recruiting help, and I can help.
Addiction affects three out of four of our families and I am comforted in knowing I am joined by many others who are looking to heal themselves–and their families. If you are one of these people, thank you for looking into this work!
A challenge we have in addiction treatment is not only getting well, but learning and practicing what it takes to stay well after we stop our active addiction. What we know is long-term recovery = long term wellness practices. We also know that accountability through continued, maintenance care is what separates long-term recovery from chronic addiction relapse.
That’s where I come in as your prospective Recovery and Wellness Coach because we all can use a coach to anchor a new skill set into practice. Practice makes progress and…progress, not perfection.
I have studied mind, body and spirit “fitness” for over thirty years and remain an avid student of addiction and the applied, evidence based science of integrated wellness. You’ll find a short biography and my credentials below.
I have developed an integrated approach and simple lifestyle skill set called, Blueprint for Recovery. I also have a few different coaching packages, a sliding scale payment schedule and a few different ways of staying in touch. We all have busy lives and the idea is to decrease stress–not add more stress.
People contact me in all stages of their recovery–all over the world. If you’re interested in learning more, I recommend filling out the contact page to arrange for a complimentary consultation to learn if I’m the right Recovery Coach for you. You may also call me at 650 474 9411 and if I don’t answer, I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
Please, have a look around the site, my blog posts and the catalogue of conversations on my podcast, Sober Conversations. I am passionate about recovery advocacy and available to speak on it, addiction science, wellness and spirituality upon request. Please visit the presentation page for contact and more information.
Thanks for visiting RHC–and it’s true, all great beginnings start with a conversation. I look forward to hearing from you about how I can help.
