Pepsi Max is a cola that many people think is harmful to your weight loss. This article will discuss the benefits and possible negative effects of the product.
Though you may have heard of it, Pepsi Max is a relatively new and very interesting drink in the United States. What is Pepsi Max and how does it work? What are the benefits of this drink? Is Pepsi Max safe to drink? Is it healthy? Is it good for weight loss? Does it really help with weight loss? We will try to answer these questions and more in the following article.
While diet sodas have been largely banished from American grocery stores, they are still a popular diet beverage in other parts of the world, especially the Middle East. This is why many keep buying Diet Pepsi, even though they know it can do more harm than good to one’s health. It has been shown to cause more weight gain than diet soda alternatives that are made from artificial sweeteners. According to one study, consuming as little as one 7-ounce can of Diet Pepsi per day, could lead to as much weight gain as consuming three regular sodas.
Is it true that artificial sweeteners in diet drinks have an impact on your weight? The results of a six-hour experiment I just performed indicate that the answer is yes.
The results are shown above. In approximately an hour, I finished the Pepsi Max (17 oz). The purple line indicates ketones, whereas the black line represents blood glucose.
Preparation
Previously: Planning/Report 1
I had been in noticeable ketosis (due to a rigorous LCHF diet) for a few weeks before the trial started. Before starting the experiment, I fasted for six hours.
Before I began drinking Pepsi Max, I had my first four blood tests. Blood glucose and ketones were slightly higher than 4 mmol/L (equivalent to 72 mg/dL blood glucose). The minor discrepancy noticed in the initial testing is most likely attributable to the meter’s lack of accuracy (a normal phenomenon in household meters).
I drank Pepsi (50 cl) throughout the blackout, which lasted around 10-15 minutes.
Results of blood glucose tests
As you can see, my blood sugar level did not change significantly throughout the trial. It remained about 4.5 mmol/L (80 mg/dL), with minor variations that are most likely within the meter’s error range.
Result of ketone
While there was no impact on blood sugar, there was a significant effect on ketone levels. Artificial sweeteners, as I anticipated when planning the experiment, may induce an insulin rise. Ketones, which are insulin-sensitive, are reduced as a result.
My ketone level fell from 4 to 3.4 mmol/l fifteen minutes after drinking the Pepsi. After then, it dropped for another two and a half hours, until it was down almost 50%.
Ketone levels started to increase again after that. But it hadn’t returned to its normal location when I stopped the experiment nearly five hours after drinking the lemonade.
What exactly does this imply?
Because Pepsi Max and other artificial sweetener products have no calories, they are believed to have no impact on a person’s weight. This is a faulty simplification that ignores hormonal impacts as well as the hunger they induce. Sweeteners, whether high-calorie or not, will certainly impact your weight if they slow down fat burning and enhance the sensation of hunger.
The fact that anything occurred is apparent from this experience. The amount of ketone in the body has drastically decreased. This, I believe, may decrease fat burning, making weight loss more difficult. It may be linked to insulin secretion or not.
What if artificial sweeteners cause your fat burning to be interrupted for more than five hours every time you eat them?
Objection: Is it the artificial sweeteners or the caffeine in the drink that is to blame? Although only experience can tell, I’d like to go with the sweeteners. Perhaps I’ll do a similar experiment with black coffee later.
What are your thoughts on the outcomes?

The health risks of drinking soda are well known, but the effects of a super-sweetened diet soda on your weight aren’t so clear. Some studies show that diet soda drinkers may be more likely to gain weight or put on pounds—even if they’re avoiding junk foods. Other research has found that diet soda drinkers are more likely to reduce their calorie intake, which can help you lose weight. Still more studies show that downing a diet soda can make you less hungry than you otherwise would be, and make you more likely to exercise and eat healthy..
