After all, how would I get the right amount of cheese and the right ratio of salt and pepper to go with the parmesan cheese? I was skeptical about the whole concept.

There are lots of great ways to eat healthy. One recipe we saw on the blog not too long ago was for low carb Parmesan crisps. Just the name sounds delicious, but what are they? If you’ve ever enjoyed the salty texture of Parmesan cheese, then you know they’re made from the same ingredient, but they have little to do with the traditional dish. Here’s how to make them at home:

It’s been about an hour since I started typing this, and I’ve already eaten two of these Parmesan Crisps. I know they’re not “healthy”, but they’re delicious!

These Crispy Parmesan are one of our favorite go-to, quick-to-prepare keto snacks! We keep a container full of them in the fridge in case we become hungry but don’t want to feel guilty. You can’t go wrong with just 1.5 net carbohydrates for four crisps. To get the authentic chip flavor, I prefer to dip them in sour cream or guacamole. I challenge you to give it a go!

Chips with Low Carbohydrate

Chips are the one item I miss the most since starting my ketogenic diet. Heavenly bits of salty, greasy, crunchy, and delicious bliss. However, these Parmesan crisps transport me back to the days when I ate chips for lunch every day. We’ve tried flax seed crackers, pork rinds, and even vegetables as chip substitutes, but these Parmesan crisps are the finest by far! They taste much better after a night on the counter. They’ll crisp up even more if you leave them out on the counter or put them in the fridge.

Crispy Cheese with Jalapeno

We prefer to include a jalapeño in the center for extra heat, but you can leave it out or go all out and put pepperoni on top. The greatest thing about adding anything else to the cheese is that whatever you choose will add flavor! The jalapeño heat and flavor permeate throughout the crisp as the Parmesan bakes.

Instructions:

  • Make eight 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese mounds an inch apart on a baking mat or parchment paper.

  • Slice the jalapeño as thinly or as thickly as you want, place them on a baking sheet, and bake for 5 minutes at 425°F.

  • When the jalapenos are cool enough to handle, place each one on a pile of Parmesan, gently pushing it down.

  • Each provolone slice should be cut into four pieces for a total of eight, and each piece should be placed on top of the jalapeño and Parmesan.

  • Preheat oven to 425°F and bake for 9 minutes.
