Schemes are being devised at the moment to help people suffering from chronic pain and stress. Scotland, with its long history of illegal cannabis use, has become the first country to approve the use of the herb for medicinal purposes. The Scottish Medicines Consortium has designated cannabis-based products a “breakthrough therapy”, meaning they can be dispensed by doctors without the need for prior approval from a drug agency.

This is meant to be used for medical purposes including pain relief, but also for patients who have severe epilepsy and have tried many different treatments without success.
