In early 2017, I was working with a patient who had been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. His cholesterol was over 300, his blood sugar was over 400, his weight was over 420-pound and he had recently been put on a statin drug. I suggested that we try a low carb diet, and he gave it a shot. After a few weeks of watching his cholesterol drop, his sugar come down and his blood pressure normalize, he stopped taking the statin. He was then able to stop taking the statin, and has maintained this level of wellness since. He even went on to become a medical student and now works as an internist.
