This quick and easy naan pizza is much better than delivery. What makes it really tasty is the garlic and basil base. I discovered naan pizza. I know, I know, I know. I was late to the game. But it was a turning point for me. I really like this pizza. When we order, we usually order the Pizza Margarita, because it’s the lightest of all the pizza combinations and it tastes nice and fresh. So when I decided to use the naan bread as a base and add my own ingredients, the Pizza Margherita popped up again. To say that this pizza outshines all other delivery pizzas is a huge understatement. To be honest, I owe this idea to Nigella Lawson. She said that no matter what you do, you should always have naan bread in your pantry because it really is a lifesaver! Naan is an interesting bread that resembles a flatbread in many ways. Like pita, naan is a sourdough flatbread with a soft, chewy texture. Actually, it’s a little softer than pita. And for that reason, it’s absolutely perfect for pizza. So I ran to the nearest Trader Joe’s store and bought a 4-pack of small loaves of naan bread, knowing they would be perfect for made-to-order pizza. And honestly, they’re so hearty that two loaves can fill three people. When it came time to make the pizza, I had the idea of using a ready-made pizza sauce or even a hot tomato sauce as a base. Somehow, it didn’t fit with this pizza. It’s just going to ruin everything. We finished with chopped basil, garlic and olive oil. And it worked like a charm – both times I did it – because my husband said we absolutely had to do it again and again. So here we are.

How to make this delicious pizza
When I called this dish Quick and Easy Pizza Naan, I wasn’t kidding. From start to finish, you can prepare this dish in 20 minutes. It’s better than delivery! First, preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Whether you make the pizza on a pizza stone or a griddle, make sure both are in the preheated oven. The extra heat helps the crust get perfectly crispy. Next, chop about 3 tablespoons of basil and also 3 cloves of garlic and add them to the bowl. Pour in about 3 tablespoons of olive oil and stir to combine. Spread half the mixture over each naan bread. Then spread the sliced mozzarella evenly over the top. Then add the sliced tomatoes. All tomato varieties are suitable. I used a combination of yellow seedling tomatoes and red Campari tomatoes. Top with a few leaves of fresh basil. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes. I only use 1/4 teaspoon, but if you like more spice, add more. Finally, sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Next, place the loaves on a pizza stone or baking sheet and bake the pizzas for about 10-12 minutes. The cheese will melt and the edges of the naan will brown. Cut into slices and serve immediately. And another advantage of this naan pizza over delivery. Fresh, hot, incredibly delicious pizza straight from the oven. Print Recipe
